Nadine Watson is a Partner at Econic Partners based in Madrid. Dr. Watson has more than 20 years’ experience advising clients on the application of economic analysis and econometrics techniques in the context of the quantification of damages in follow-on proceedings, as well as the assessment of effects and efficiencies in mergers and antitrust cases.
Dr. Watson’s advisory work spans across a wide range of industries including digital platforms, consumer goods, healthcare, life sciences, manufacturing, retail, industrial products, telecommunications, and transportation, further strengthening Econic’s growing capabilities across Europe. She also has a strong interest in the application of quantitative tools in assessment of new issues in competition policy such as sustainability benefits and effects of competition on labour markets.
Dr. Watson has given expert testimony before numerous competition authorities and courts including the European Commission, the International Court of Arbitration, the UK, Finnish, Portuguese, Romanian, Ukrainian, and Colombian competition authorities, and before the Portuguese and Spanish courts.
Dr. Watson is a ranked “Thought Leader” in Lexology’s Competition Economics Index and her research has been published in the Journal of Monetary Economics and the Journal of Competition Law & Economics.
Dr. Watson’s consulting experience spans over two decades in the European Competition practices across Compass Lexecon, NERA, and LECG. Prior to that, she worked at the Bank of Spain, the Banco de la República of Colombia, and the Universidad Complutense of Madrid.
Dr. Watson holds a Ph.D. in Economics from the University of California, San Diego and an MA in Economics from the Universidad de los Andes, Bogotá.
