On August 7, 2025, UnitedHealth Group (UHG) settled its litigation with U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) and several State co-Plaintiffs, clearing the path to close its $3.3 billion acquisition of Amedisys; UHG and Amedisys are two of the nation’s leading hospice and home health care providers.
The merging parties retained Econic Partners Founding Partner Jon Orszag and Compass Lexecon Senior Managing Director Dennis Carlton to testify about the competitive effects of the proposed merger, as well as the divestiture proposal put forward by the merging parties.
