Christopher Garmon is an Associate Professor of Health Administration at the Henry W. Bloch School of Management at the University of Missouri Kansas City. Prior to joining UMKC, Dr. Garmon served as a staff economist at the Federal Trade Commission, where he led the economic analysis for numerous antitrust investigations, across a range of industries. His primary area of expertise is health care markets, particularly the economic analysis of hospital, physician, and pharmaceutical mergers and divestitures. He also has conducted extensive research on surprise out-of-network medical bills and the economic effects of laws, like the No Surprises Act, that prohibit them. Throughout his career, he has received numerous awards for his research, teaching, and casework. He received a Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Florida.
