David Meyer is a Partner at Econic Partners based in Washington, DC. Dr. Meyer has worked in competition economics for nearly three decades, analyzing mergers and anticompetitive practices mainly in the United States, but also in the UK and EU. His advisory work spans across various industries, including semi-conductors, computer software and hardware, petroleum, chemicals, travel, and manufacturing.

Prior to joining Econic Partners, Dr. Meyer served as Executive Vice President at Compass Lexecon, as well as a staff economist at the U.S. Federal Trade Commission (FTC) for twenty-two years. While at the FTC, he led the economic analysis of both merger and conduct cases, supported litigations, and evaluated settlements. He also provided economic analysis to former Acting Chairman and Commissioner Maureen Olhausen’s office. In addition, he was detailed to the Council of Economic Advisers from 2003-2004. He has provided technical assistance and training to competition agencies in Egypt, India, Hungary, and Argentina, and participated in a staff exchange with the UK Competition Commission.

Dr. Meyer earned his PhD in Economics from the University of Michigan in 1996. Dr. Meyer now splits his time between Washington, DC, and Belfast, Northern Ireland.
