Andres Lerner is a Founding Partner and the Head of the North American Antitrust and Competition Practice at Econic Partners, LLC. He brings over 25 years of experience in applying economic and econometric analysis to antitrust and competition matters, including litigation, investigations, regulatory proceedings, and mergers. Dr. Lerner has served as an economic expert in some of the most prominent antitrust cases and investigations both in the U.S. and internationally. He has extensive expertise in the antitrust economics of platform businesses and the digital economy, having worked on a wide range of industries such as online services, digital advertising, mobile smartphones, payment card services, media, health insurance, and real estate brokerage services.
Dr. Lerner has published articles in leading economic and legal journals, including the American Economic Review, the Antitrust Law Journal, and the Antitrust Bulletin, and has also co-edited a collection of seminal articles in antitrust economics. One of his co-authored articles was cited extensively by the U.S. Supreme Court in a major opinion regarding two-sided markets. Dr. Lerner has taught Economics at the University of Southern California’s Marshall School of Business. He holds a Ph.D. in Economics from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA).
