Global competition authorities, including the United States Department of Justice and the European Commission, have approved Google parent Alphabet’s acquisition of cloud security firm Wiz, after concluding the transaction would not raise competition concerns. The $32 billion deal is Google’s largest to date and will strengthen Google’s cloud services offerings.

An Econic Partners team including Loren Smith, Andres Lerner, Matt Schmitt, Emmett Dacey, Michael Sabor, Dan Gaynor, Kenneth Rios, Carlos Paez, Lucas Fox, and CJ Lu Sing provided economic analysis and advice to Google for the regulatory review processes.

The Econic team worked with a Cleary Gottlieb team led by Leah Brannon, Blair Matthews, and Cunzhen Huang in the US; Robbert Snelders, Conor Opdebeeck-Wilson, and Basak Arslan in the EU; and Paul Gilbert in the UK.
