Econic Partners (“Econic”) is thrilled to announce that Professor Jean-Pierre (JP) Dubé has joined the firm as a Senior Consultant. Professor Dubé is one of the world’s foremost experts at the nexus of quantitative marketing and competition economics. His academic research, which has been published in leading journals, uses econometrics to analyze consumer behavior. As a result, his expertise further deepens our ability to serve clients on a range of litigation and regulatory matters, especially where either econometrics and/or survey research – in particular, conjoint analysis – provides insights into consumer preferences.
Professor Dubé has testified in a wide variety of cases on class certification, damages, survey design, conjoint analysis, and quantitative marketing. These cases have included Lanham Act claims, as well as merger-related matters.
In addition to his role at Econic, Professor Dubé serves as the James M. Kilts Distinguished Service Professor of Marketing at the University of Chicago Booth School of Business. He has published extensively on competition, pricing strategies, branding, digital advertising, and consumer behavior in leading journals, and served as the co-editor of The Handbook of the Economics of Marketing. Professor Dubé is a Research Associate at the National Bureau of Economic Research, a faculty fellow at the Marketing Science Institute, and the department editor at Management Science.
Andres Lerner and Loren Smith, the Heads of Econic’s North American Antitrust & Competition Practice, commented, “JP is a two-way threat: a world-renowned expert on survey research and a leading industrial organization economist. We are thrilled that he has chosen to join Econic and strengthen the firm’s group of leading experts.”
Professor Dubé said, “Econic has put together an amazing team in such a short period of time – and I look forward to working with them on competition and survey research matters.”
