Mr. Tompkins is a Partner specializing in applied econometrics; industrial organization; and horizontal and vertical mergers. He has consulted on several of the most significant and high-profile transactions in recent years, including UnitedHealth Group’s acquisition of Amedisys, Microsoft’s acquisition of Activision-Blizzard, and Illumina’s acquisition of GRAIL. In addition to his work on mergers, Mr. Tompkins has extensive experience consulting on antitrust litigation on topics including price fixing and bid rigging.
Mr. Tompkins possesses deep experience across a diverse array of industries, including video game consoles and software, life sciences, healthcare, consumer packaged goods, broadcast television, agriculture, and automobiles. Beyond traditional econometric modeling, he is experienced in the design and analysis of conjoint surveys to estimate consumer demand.
He frequently represents clients before federal regulators, having authored white papers and presented economic findings to the Department of Justice (DOJ) and the Federal Trade Commission (FTC). Additionally, Mr. Tompkins has extensive experience supporting economic experts in conducting economic analysis, drafting written testimony, and preparing for depositions and trials.
